For those who have been paying attention since I started the Road to Epic, you may be noticing a substantial decrease in productivity lately. Truth be told, I’m getting very exhausted from the almost nonstop amount of work I have done for over a year now. I have had very little time to sit back and relax. It’s dragging me down.
I’m working overtime at my day job to meet some deadlines, and I haven’t been able to commit as much time I want to the Road to Epic.
Once the current project I’m working on at my day job is finished, I may be taking a vacation to try and clear my head. If that happens, I will most likely be able to put 8 hours into the Road to Epic every day for a few weeks. Because, hey, not working on art at all would drive me nuts, and I love what I’m doing here. We’ll see. No promises.
Just bear with me over the next couple weeks while things get a bit rocky.
Tonight I threw together a spoof of the famous “I’m With Coco” picture, but now completely devoid of personality and targeting Executive Producer of Gears of War, Rod Fergusson. This will probably only make sense to a few people.
Edit: Blah. I keep looking back at this and it bugs me. I’m going to keep working on it.

Here we are at the end. Updated Resume Up first, we have the regular updates. The new working logo for the game. It seemed almost dirty, in such a tongue-in-cheek game, to not make reference to Jurassic Park. Before arriving at any solid designs, concepts are always necessary. Here are a handful of ideas for…

Crunch Week 06 – Day 7 The majority of the night was spent writing out some detailed information on the combat system for programmers Marty and Keith to start toying around with. With the rest of the evening, I tried to wrap up the Triceratops textures and UDK materials, taking into consideration some comments from…

Crunch Week 06 – Day 4 The day job ran long today. I used the time I had tonight to put some more work into Marcus. I compared my last update of this model with some finished creature models from Gears of War 2, and I noticed I wasn’t pushing the depth enough. My edges…

I got into the Gears 3 Beta over the weekend by submitting my Tim Sweeney model to a small Twitter contest for why we deserve a Beta download code. I received this message: “@weephun Nice job man! Tim really thought that was funny! Enjoy! [Code]” A few days later, this Twitter message shows up from…

As I said, not many significant additions, just lots of little details. And an extra version since I can never take anything too serious. Enjoy!

So, this is my piece in progress for a small contest on DeviantArt. The contest ends April 2nd. I will update this site with the final product on April 1st. It won’t change whole lot by then; there are just a lot of little details to go over. I am incredibly excited for Gears of…

I can’t think of anything of real value to say. It’s too late for me, but damnit, deadlines need to be met. Tim Sweeney has a bitchin’ new hat and beard for the holidays. http://www.garydraws.com/media/TimSweeney.rar And I vectorized the logo I’ve been working on. It was “due” tonight, but I’m so awful when it comes…
